Ksenija Komljenovic. Percussion

  • St. Mary's Music Academy 205 West Farriss Avenue High Point, NC, 27262 United States (map)

Join us for a unique percussion journey where tradition and innovation unite. In this captivating concert, Ksenija KOMLJENOVIĆ (Percussion) will present a dynamic repertoire for percussion that spans centuries and genres.

Experience the echoes of "Something Old" with Bach's Chaconne, and "Something New" through modern works including Vincent Houdijk's “MaPa” and Emmanuel Séjourné’s “Attraction”.

"Something Borrowed" explores the art of arrangement as Ksenija adapts Arvo Pärt's “Variations on the Healing of Arinushka" and Tigran Hamasyan's “Lilac” (with special guest, Antek Olesik).

Lastly, "Something Blue" delves into the emotional depths of Serbian folk music with Ksenija's moving vocal-marimba fusion in “This Morning My Rose Blossomed” (Jutros mi je ruža procvetala).
